Nexus was proud to support PA Consulting and Accenture on their collaborative event this week, which brought together partners and stakeholders to explore the growing issue of online harm (also known as non-contact abuse), and the lasting psychological, emotional and social impact it can have.

The in-person session featured an expert panel discussion, live Q&A, and opportunities for networking, with contributions from across the public, private, and third sectors. Nexus CEO Joanne Barnes joined the panel to share insights on the realities of digital abuse and the collective action needed to address it.

Discussions focused on the impact of non-contact abuse – including online harassment, non-consensual image sharing, and the misuse of generative AI technologies such as deepfakes.

As part of the programme, Nexus RESET Project Worker Jane Adams delivered a session outlining the Nexus roadmap, alongside our Pledge to End Violence Against Women and Girls (EVAWG) and training offer, highlighting how organisations can take practical steps to challenge harmful behaviours and create safer environments.

This event reflects the value of partnership working in addressing complex and evolving forms of abuse, and the continued need to raise awareness, strengthen responses, and influence change across Northern Ireland.
