Role Description

The 24 hour Domestic and Sexual Abuse Helpline is open all day, every day. We take calls from anyone impacted by domestic/sexual abuse and people also contact us by email, web chat and WhatsApp. To be a Volunteer Helpline Operator, you need to be a great listener and comfortable with people sharing their experiences with you. You will need to take care of your own well-being and maintain healthy boundaries. You will listen to callers, and give them information and support, including signposting to other agencies. You will be given comprehensive training with opportunities to practice taking calls. When your training is complete, you will be assigned shifts in advance and you will have support from experienced Helpline Operators and our Clinical Team.
