Could you see yourself becoming a charity trustee?

The Nexus Board Academy offers individuals the opportunity to gain practical experience of charity governance and develop the knowledge, skills and confidence needed to take their first steps towards becoming a trustee.

Over 6 months, participants will have the opportunity to:

– Attend Board and relevant committee meetings
– Learn from experienced trustees, the Chair and senior leadership
– Develop their understanding of governance, finance, safeguarding, risk and strategy
– Take part in training and development sessions
– Contribute to discussions and gain insight into how Board decisions are made
– Receive support from a dedicated Board Mentor

You don’t need previous Board or trustee experience – we’re looking for people who are interested in charity governance, willing to learn and keen to develop their skills and perspective.

The programme is a development and assessment route towards potential trustee appointment, and is designed to help participants understand what it means to be a trustee and explore whether it’s the right next step for them.
